About Me
I'm a freelance illustrator ba based in Northamptonshire and Leicestershire. My illustrative work is inspired by all that surrounds me, especially nature and wildlife. I draw imaginative, memorable characters with a childlike creativity. I specialise in children's book illustration and also write my own children's stories.
Achievements/Interests
In my third year of university I became a member of the F10 Design Society Team, helping to raise money for our course's degree show. I was also head of "Events Organisation" for the F10 Design Society too, for the first half of my third year in university before I resigned my position to focus solely on my work for the final half of the year. I created illustrations for a children's storybook about a cat for a client. This was paid work. I am currently waiting for the client to publish my book. I have worked every academic summer holiday full-time at a hospital in my hometown, Northampton General Hospital, where I undertook admin and clerical duties in the Antenatal Clinic.
What makes you buzz?
Everything around me makes me buzz. The changes of the seasons, nature and wildlife, culture, blustering people… and most of all discovering new tools, media and techniques within the artistic world.
Where is your hive?
My hive where I thrive most is at my desk in my flat, surrounded by all of my artistic media and everything that inspires me. I usually have some music on in the background to keep the work flowing, and a hot cup of coffee to sip from close by.
Who is your queen bee?
I don't just have one 'Queen Bee.' There are a handful of illustrators who repeatedly inspire me and influence my work daily.
